Following the guidelines from the government and British Canoeing Singing Paddles has a method of working that allows us to get out on the water with groups. It is in low numbers but we are lucky that the canoes being 5 metres long allow fully for distancing when two people are sat in the same boat.
The equipment once repacked is left for three days untouched to kill the virus and after that the buoyancy aids are washed as normal with a disinfectant, soap and water. If the equipment is required the next day the canoes and equipment is washed down with a disinfectant, soap and water.
Feedback from the groups that have already been paddling has been incredibly positive and they are glad to be back on the water, travelling through an area they love and that they have missed during lockdown. They were also glad to see friends again to have a chat too. ‘Back to normality’ was once of the quotes.
Please check the Diary page for dates and times to book
Many thanks for those who have come out paddling – keeping Singing Paddles afloat!
